As IP Phones may not support SNMP SapphireIMS has support to discover such devices through layer-2 discovery protocols such as LLDP, CDP, FDP, etc. These protocols allows IP phones to inform the core switch about attributes of the IP phone such as vendor name, model number, serial number, software revision, firmware description, chassis ID, chassis sub type, port ID, port description, etc.
Note: These devices appears as part of Layer-2 discovery maps and won’t appear in our regular inventory and If this needs to be populated as part of asset management, then it has to be customized and for this you may take help from our support.
