I have few oracle and SQL server licenses with processor and core-based licensing metrics. Whether SapphireIMS support such metrics?

Yes, SapphireIMS supports processor and core-based metrics. These licenses are typically measured with processors (Number of CPU sockets) or number of cores in the machine with multiplying factor provided by software vendor. While there are default metrics provided for both processor and cores in SapphireIMS, you may need to define new license metric under license dictionary as per multiplying factor provided by software vendor and use as part of license record. To add new metric, please refer Software Licenses and follow settings-> select Dictionary name as License Metric → Add

For example: Oracle provides core factor table https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjazI2p0O3uAhVDop4KHRxJDF0QFjAAegQIAxAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oracle.com%2Fassets%2Fprocessor-core-factor-table-070634.pdf&usg=AOvVaw33DFeTsVEi-o904EqUl8ED

Hence as per Oracle multyplying factor, if you have Intel chips with 16 core machine, then your multiplying factor would be 0.5 and you need total license 16x0.5 = 8 for that device.

MS provided core factor as follows for SQL server –

Please note that there can be additional conditions such as minimum license to be purchased irrespective of number of cores available and there may be cap on max quantity such as license may be applicable only up to 32 cores.
