If the storage device is supported by SNMP or SMI-S(WBEM) and vendor has OID/Classes supported for required parameters then it can be monitored by new device addition process. Else if its not supported by SNMP or SMI-S(WBEM) and if its supported by CLI then we will have instrument new code to support it based on the feasibility.
Generally SAN switches and tape libraries supports SNMP and Raid Arrays supports SMI-S(Storage management initiative specification) and can be enabled with additional schema in SapphireIMS depending on device supported protocol.
